I came across this video today, its called The Story of Stuff. Its entertaining, funny and has some important and interesting things to say regarding our (America’s) culture of consumption. There are some points in the video that I have thought about before and its nice to see it presented in such a fun an educational way – i guess this is making the rounds in the education world and thats a good thing as I think this topic is important for the kids to understand.
Insane factoid from the movie that I’ve been thinking about all day: 99% of stuff consumed is trashed (ends up in the landfill) within 6 months.
Point being: watch the vid and think about the stuff you buy and consume. do your part!
