We got lots of vocal recordings done over memorial day weekend – it was highly productive! We also made some decisions on what songs we think should go on Seasong, the next Dem Suite record. Right now we’ve tentatively decided on 9 tracks out of 15 or so, its really starting to feel like an album and that makes me really excited! We still have some more vocal recording to do as well as some lyric writing. We are also going to completely rerecord a tune that we originally recorded in Mendocino last August following our summer tour, mainly because I lost all the original files/tracks somehow and now we can’t mix the song properly. I think it will also be an interesting recording/studio exercise to recreate that Mendo-vibe.
Last week’s shows we’re all pretty good. The Dem Suite/Poleng show was absolutely fantastic from a musical standpoint – having Rob playing drums with us took it all to a new level, we were all really excited about that. The two Otto Mobile shows over the weekend were fun, at the very least they were interesting – the weather could have been better, it was cold and cloudy here in SF. There is media from all this floating around somewhere, I will post anything that’s good once I get it.
