here we go

yes. so i finally made myself update this website. the inspiration came from reading map~map’s dust breeding blog – a fellow monome user – where he posts something he created once everyday. check it out, its pretty cool. i’m not planning to post every single day, but i will update this site frequently, mainly with updates concerning my band dem suite, but actually i plan to post anything creative i’ve got my hands on.

i will try and keep a running log of our recording efforts (both good and bad), the songwriting process, video, any design we do and so on.  i think that in this time of 24-hour news cycles, its important for artists to continually publish content and let those that are interested in on the steps involved in the creative process.  so we will try and preview songs in progress, rough mixes, lyrics that are still being worked out, themes that we are bouncing around in the studio and the like.

so with all that said, over the rainly san francisco weekend elliott and i spent a lot of time in the studio.  we got a lot accomplished and are hoping to finish our second full length record this spring.  we kinda did an improvised recording of this song – meaning that we recorded the whole thing in single takes in about an hour total.  it will proabably fit with the theme of our next record – seasongs, beaches, water – but the mood is a lot darker than some of the other stuff that will make the record.

Dem Suite – “Empty House by the Beach”
