The last dubstep mixtape I made went over quite well. Thank you for listening. So I decided to follow it up one year later with another mix: Dubset Volume 2. Enjoy!

Filmaker, Dalton Rooney, shot and directed this video on 8mm film entitled “Spare a Quarter” back in 2007.  For the music here, we gave him a beat we had lying around in infancy at the time.  I don’t remember ever seeing the finished film until now. I totally forgot about this project, and here two years later, it was found and brought to my attention.  Now, the beat is actually a song with lyrics and more shit called, “Ecliptic” and should probably be on our next Dem Suite record.  I love the grittiness of the 8mm film, reminds me a little bit of the Arnofosky movie π, one my college favorites. This whole project is somewhat inspiring to me to try and reach out to more filmmakers and offer to do music.  Although this was just a beat thrown over the top of a nice little film, its still cool and I’d definitely like to attempt to compose a piece or several pieces of music specifically for a film in the future.

Trazmick – Welcome to The Aerobics Center

Ok. This mix has been a long time coming. I grew up outside of Chicago in Indiana and in the mid-80’s, like many suburban moms, my mother was an aerobics fanatic. She went a few times a week to this place called The Aerobics Center. For some reason I had to go along with her, probably because they offered free daycare. So while my mom was sweatin away to 80s house and dance music I was in the adjacent room absorbing the bass and beats while trying entertain myself with whatever other abandoned children were there in the daycare, which was really just a small room that I swear was right next to the subwoofers. I mean it was loud in there!
At this early age I was exposed to the grid-like repetition of those Roland drum machines and the rhythmic pulse of those cheesy, digital dance pianos, sounds I still love to this day. So with that, here is my latest mix. Its mid-eighties Chicago House, some tracks that influenced the genre and some pop tracks that stemmed from it. Enjoy!
